GA Braun designs and builds commercial laundry and textile equipment for markets across the globe. Headquartered in North Syracuse, the company needed to expand its operations, adding an additional 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space. O’Connell installed the electrical infrastructure for the new building, which began full production in the Fall of 2016.
The scope of work included installation of 276 LED sealed light fixtures with network wireless switch controls, twelve work cell areas, each with their own distribution system, overhead rail cranes, emergency and exit lighting as well as expanded parking lot lighting assemblies.
Braun took advantage of incentives available through National Grid and NYSERDA to upgrade their building lighting to LED technology. Through rebate programs and energy savings from the retrofit, their investment will pay for itself in just over two years, at which point they expect to save nearly $40,000 per year in reduced energy consumption costs.
